Pay-Per-View (PPV) is the primary way to monetize content in a Public Studio. Instead of requiring a subscription, you set a price for each individual Drop or Video. Fans pay once and get lifetime access to that piece of content.

How PPV works

1

Set your price

When you upload a Drop or Video to your Public Studio, you choose the price in Credits. You can set a different price for each piece of content depending on its value, exclusivity, or effort involved.
2

Attach a Teaser

Add a 15-second Teaser to your Drop or Video. This is how potential buyers preview your content in the feed before deciding to purchase. Without a Teaser, new viewers have no way to see what they’re paying for.
3

Fan previews and purchases

Fans see your Teaser autoplay in their feed or on your Studio page. If they want the full content, they pay the Credits price you set. The payment is one-time — they never pay again for that content.
4

Lifetime access granted

Once a fan pays, they own permanent access to that content. It stays in their account even if they unfollow your Studio or stop engaging.

Setting prices

You have full control over pricing:
  • Set a unique price per Drop or Video
  • Adjust prices at any time based on the content’s value or exclusivity
  • Higher-effort content (documentaries, performances, in-depth tutorials) can command a higher price than quick clips
If a piece of content took significantly more time or resources to produce, don’t be afraid to price it higher. Your Teaser does the selling — make it compelling and the price becomes easier to justify.

Fan experience with PPV

  • Fans do not need a subscription to buy PPV content — they simply pay for what interests them
  • They preview via your Teaser in the feed or on your Studio page
  • After purchasing, the content is permanently available in their account
  • Gifting is still available on PPV content — fans can send Credits during or after watching
PPV-only buyers do not get access to your CliQ. CliQ access is for subscribers only. If community access is part of your value proposition, direct fans toward a subscription instead.
